Former Atlanta United playmaker Miguel
Almiron scored his second goal in his last five games in a Newcastle United
shirt Saturday, but also left early with an apparent injury in a 1-1 draw with
League One side Rochdale in the third round of the FA Cup.
Almiron gave the Magpies the lead in the
17th minute with an emphatic second-touch strike on the half volley from the
left side of the penalty area.

However, an apparent knock convinced
manager Steve Bruce to pull the Paraguayan in the 64th minute, and Rochdale's
leveler 15 minutes later will force Newcastle into a third-round replay at St.
James Park.
US national team and former Seattle
Sounders wide man DeAndre Yedlin was also back in the lineup for Newcastle
after suffering a hand injury on New Year's Day.
After struggling to convert some
promising creative play into tangible production for most of his first year in
England, Almiron got off the schnide with his first goal on Dec. 21, an
83rd-minute winner in a Premier League victory over Crystal Palace.
The goal came a few weeks after his first
scoresheet contribution, an assist that helped the Magpies earn a point against
Manchester City in November.
